United by smiles

UPS gives out smiles at its Access Points

Asesores is developing a solidarity initiative to collect toys for children in need, in five Spanish provinces (Madrid, Barcelona, Valencia and Bilbao) and with the collaboration of regional NGOs. The aim is to position UPS as a leading CSR logistics company and to boost visibility and traffic at UPS Access Points, convenience points for package pick-up.

Reinforcing UPS Access Point traffic with smiles

With this campaign, UPS wants to encourage the Christmas spirit among the citizens of the five provinces where the campaign is taking place, so that they come and deliver used toys in good condition to their nearest UPS Access Points. This allows citizens to be aware of these hotspots, and to use them now or in the near future, if needed.  Meanwhile, establishments, which can be petrol stations, stationery shops or any other business, increase foot traffic to their point of sale.

More than 8,000 children with toys

In the last edition, 200 UPS Access Point™ locations in five Spanish cities participated. In general, hotspots report an increase in hotspot traffic. The number of participating charities also increased that year. The multinational delivered the donated toys and books to the following local NGOs who distributed them to children in need:

  • Fundació Formació i Treball (with the collaboration of Càritas Diocesana de Barcelona)
  • Koopera Cáritas
  • Asociación Esperanza Al Amal
  • Madre Coraje
  • Obra Social de la Hermandad de La Macarena, with the support of Club Cámara – Cámara de Comercio de Sevilla (Seville Chamber of Commerce)
  • Misión Urbana de Valencia

During the campaign, more than 8,000 toys were collected in Spain for underprivileged children in four cities, 1,000 more toys than in the previous edition
